A brilliant read we travelling from the UK 30th August. we were advised to purchase a pass for the five days, which is supposed to get us into many of the expensive transactions for free. We are staying in Brooklyn as we believe its just a ride away from the main attractions.Where do we go to see where movies are filmed. Also, a strange question, but are there any genuine ghost tours or haunted places we coukd visit

Hi Ann, if you found Lake Como too busy, then you should probably avoid all the cities and big lakes in the summer. As much as I love Florence and Bologna, the summer temperatures are just too much to really enjoy them to the fullest, and they will be very busy too.I'm afraid that Lake Garda is way too busy for your taste as well. It's just like Lake Como if not busier in the summer months.Even in the Dolomites, it will be busy everywhere, although the beginning of July is not too bad yet.So you won't be able to avoid the crowds everywhere, but of course, it's very different in the mountains than in the cities. And if you opt for some less popular hikes, it can be very quiet and enjoyable. Also the weather is generally much cooler in the mountains than in the nearby cities, which is perfect in the summer. And no, 7 days aren't too much for the Dolomites. There's so much to see and do. We've been several times, 7-12 days each time, and still have a long list of ideas of places we'd like to see when we go back.PS Be sure to book your accommodations asap! Of course, it's just the 2 of you, but still - July is a very busy season in the mountains. Also, when you book, you'll notice that some hotels show no availability, but that's because many of them have a minimum stay requirement, and some even only allow bookings of at least 7 nights, etc. But I guess that for 2 people it shouldn't be a problem to find nice places even at the last minute.PS 2 If you want to visit a nice city in this area, I highly recommend Verona. If visiting at the end of the week (Thursday on), you could also attend a concert at the arena. It will be busy too, but it's nearby and I'd not hesitate going there for a day or two in the summer. We have a comprehensive guide to the best things to do in Verona - it will give you an idea of what to expect. Another nice town in that area is Trento. And - on a quieter and smaller side - Bolzano (see Ötzi (the iceman)) and Merano which can both be seen in one day from the Val Gardena area.Good luck with the planning and have a great trip!
Hi Stacy, you worry too much! :) Your trip sounds amazing and most of the roads you'll be taking are really not that special or dangerous.I also never really noticed that our phones or GPS wouldn't work. But it doesn't harm to download an offline map on Google Maps to your phone, in case you experience any issues with live data. You can also just buy a simple road map too.Anyway, the road from Munich to Cortina via Innsbruck is nothing to worry about, the same for the way back. And when you drive from Cortina to the Val Gardena side, you can take that same road (SS49/E66) and then the highway if you want to avoid the 'worst' mountains altogether. Be sure to stop at Lago di Braies. You can also take the Gardena Pass instead of the highway - that pass is really beautiful. Passo Falzarego is not too bad either. If you don't want to have too many turns and switches, it's best to avoid the road via Passo Pordoi. For the fuel - the distances there are so short that normally, you will only need to get fuel for your car once or twice during the entire trip. Again, nothing to worry about. Probably best fuel up in Cortina, and then see how it goes. Unless it's a tiny car with a very small fuel tank, there should be no issues. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need a toll vignette in Austria (more info here). You can get it at the first petrol station when you cross the border to Austria. You can buy it for 10 days, which should hopefully cover your trip back as well.As for the kids being squeezed in the back of the car together... that's probably the biggest challenge of the whole trip. We are in the same situation and I often end up in the middle of the back seat in order to prevent a war. :) Be sure to plan a few stops when you have to cover big distances and let them pack music/headphones to keep themselves entertained during the trip.Don't worry too much and enjoy it!
See the famous collection of Native American art and explore the bold art inside and out of the Frederic C. Hamilton building, designed by world-famous architect Daniel Libeskind. Denver Art Museum recently celebrated the reopening of the Martin Building (formerly known as the North Building). First opened in 1971, the building was designed by Italian architect Gio Ponti and Denver-based James Sudler Associates. The building has been fully renovated with expanded gallery space, plus stunning views of the city skyline and Rocky Mountains. The museum is free for children under 18. There are also select free days, generally one per month, for all ages. The museum is open every day. 2ff7e9595c
